R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Lord's servants dedicate themselves to helping
  individuals grow in their faith, and Senior Pastor Michael Kessler
  of Trinity Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant has long demonstrated
  his commitment to that worthy goal; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Yorktown, Virginia, Mike Kessler
  graduated from York High School and went on to earn a bachelor's
  degree in music from Carson-Newman University and a master's degree
  in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; while
  pursuing his undergraduate and seminary studies, he served as youth
  and music minister at Armona Baptist Church in Alcoa, Tennessee,
  and at First Baptist Church Meridian in Comanche, Oklahoma; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kessler was hired as associate pastor of music,
  youth, outreach, and discipleship at Trinity Baptist Church in
  1988, and he was named senior pastor in 2003; throughout his tenure,
  he has dedicated himself to the service of his congregation and his
  community, and he has also shared the Gospel around the globe
  through mission work; his joyful ministry abundantly reflects the
  church's calling to "love Jesus and love others"; and
         WHEREAS, Married for 24 years to the former Amy Amerson, Mike
  Kessler has been further blessed with two treasured daughters,
  Hannah and Christina; and
         WHEREAS, Michael Kessler has wholeheartedly committed his
  talents and energies to serving the congregation of Trinity Baptist
  Church, and his devotion to the faith has provided valued
  inspiration and guidance to his community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Michael Kessler for his 27
  years of service in behalf of Trinity Baptist Church and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Pastor Kessler as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
