R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Bess
  Wynell Barton, who passed away on May 27, 2015, at the age of 90; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Louie Ewing and Joe Henry Buice on February
  22, 1925, in Waco, the former "Nell" Buice grew up in nearby
  Speegleville and graduated from Waco High School; she continued her
  education at Southwestern University, where she was an all-star
  basketball player, and at Baylor University, and she went on to work
  as a school secretary; respected by her colleagues, she served as
  board president for the Waco Education Secretary Association; and
         WHEREAS, On December 21, 1947, she exchanged the vows of
  matrimony with Larry Linus Barton, with whom she shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned nearly five decades before Mr. Barton's
  passing; a devoted mother to her four children, Joe, Louie,
  Elizabeth, and Jon, Mrs. Barton gave generously of her time and
  energy to the PTA and Cub Scouts, and she was delighted to welcome
  numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the family;
  sustained by a deep and abiding faith, she participated in Sunday
  school and in the women's group at St. John United Methodist Church
  in Waco; and
         WHEREAS, Known to her loved ones as "Queen Bee," Nell Barton
  was admired for her fierce loyalty, her independent spirit, and her
  delightful sense of humor, and all those who were fortunate enough
  to share in her warmth and affection will forever hold her close in
  their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bess Wynell Barton and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  children, Joe Linus Barton, Louie J. Barton and his wife, Judy, and
  Elizabeth Jan Barton Gerro and her husband, Mike; to her
  daughter-in-law, Jennifer Barton Wynne,
  and her husband, J. D.; to
  her 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; to her cousin,
  Bobby Plemons; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nell
  Barton.
