R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Black Expo is holding its annual |
|
|
Juneteenth Summer Celebration in Houston on June 11-14, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Governed by community leaders and civically engaged |
|
|
individuals from across the state, the Texas Black Expo is a |
|
|
nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering business growth and |
|
|
development and to educating and introducing young people to |
|
|
entrepreneurship; throughout the year, the group hosts monthly |
|
|
"Lunch and Learn" business development seminars; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The signature event of the TBE, the Juneteenth |
|
|
Summer Celebration is the largest cultural marketing trade show in |
|
|
the state and draws more than 20,000 attendees each year; the theme |
|
|
of the 2015 event is "Building Better Lives"; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Committed to growth and prosperity in the Lone Star |
|
|
State, the Texas Black Expo provides invaluable resources and |
|
|
opportunities for all its participants, and it is indeed a pleasure |
|
|
to recognize the organization at this point in its rich history; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 2015 Texas Black Expo Juneteenth |
|
|
Summer Celebration and extend to everyone associated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable |
|
|
event; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Texas Black Expo as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
