R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The girls' cross-country team of Bushland High |
|
|
School ended a memorable season by participating in the 2014 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League Cross Country State |
|
|
Championships; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
the state meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on November 8, the |
|
|
Bushland team included seven runners: Aundera Schroder, Cortnie |
|
|
Grauel, Keely Lane, Morgan Lackey, Savannah Lusk, Sarah Grassell, |
|
|
and Jaley McKinney; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Falcons posted a combined time of 1 hour, 5 |
|
|
minutes, 51.87 seconds, while negotiating the challenging course, |
|
|
claiming 11th place in the Class 4A team standings; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's |
|
|
premier showcase for high school cross-country runners, these |
|
|
dedicated athletes served as ambassadors for their school and |
|
|
community as they gathered with their peers from across Texas, and |
|
|
the character and sportsmanship they demonstrated will serve them |
|
|
well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the girls' |
|
|
cross-country team of Bushland High School on participating in the |
|
|
2014 University Interscholastic League State Championships and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
