R E S O L U T I O N
|
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Panhandle High School boys' golf team made an |
|
|
outstanding showing at the 2015 University Interscholastic League |
|
|
Class 2A State Tournament on April 29 and 30 in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After a solid performance at the Region 1-2A |
|
|
tournament in Odessa, the Panthers moved on to the state |
|
|
tournament, matching up against the other top Class 2A teams in |
|
|
Texas at Roy Kizer Golf Course; ably guided by coach Kristi Cameron, |
|
|
the Panhandle golfers finished with a two-day total score of 664 to |
|
|
finish in a tie for third place; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, J. R. McCoid led the way for Panhandle at state with |
|
|
a score of 162, and teammate Logan Lamberson followed closely with a |
|
|
164; the team also benefited from the valuable contributions of |
|
|
Cannon White, who carded a 168, and Treh McGill and Carson Brown, |
|
|
who each posted a 175; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Panhandle High School boys' golf |
|
|
team have established themselves as one of the strongest squads in |
|
|
the Lone Star State, and they may indeed take great pride in their |
|
|
many exceptional accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Panhandle High School boys' |
|
|
golf team on its third-place finish at the 2015 UIL Class 2A State |
|
|
Tournament and extend to the team's players and coaches sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
