R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The girls' cross-country team of Gruver High School |
|
achieved great distinction with its performance at the 2014 |
|
University Interscholastic League Cross Country State |
|
Championships; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
the state meet in Round Rock on November 8, the Gruver team included |
|
seven runners: Bailey Stedje, Hadlee Spivey, Cassandra Briones, |
|
Sarah Jackson, Reagan Haynes, Antolina Mendoza, and Kaitlyn Stedje; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Greyhounds posted a combined time of 1 hour, 5 |
|
minutes, 22.13 seconds, while negotiating the challenging course, |
|
claiming fourth place in the Class 2A team standings; and |
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
high school cross-country runners, these dedicated athletes ably |
|
represented their school and community, and they will cherish their |
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the girls' |
|
cross-country team of Gruver High School on their fourth-place |
|
finish in Class 2A at the 2014 University Interscholastic League |
|
State Championships and extend to them sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
