R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ramiro Ruben Torres III, a graduating senior at
  Zapata High School, has enjoyed a truly outstanding academic
  career, during which time he has achieved a 12-year-long record of
  perfect attendance; and
         WHEREAS, Known to his friends as "Ram," Mr. Torres has
  excelled in both his studies and his extracurricular activities; in
  addition to being recognized by the district for attending every
  one of his classes since the first grade, he has earned inclusion in
  the National Honor Society; he has also served as stage manager for
  the One-Act Play team in his senior year, and he has further
  distinguished himself as a member of the varsity football and golf
  teams and the varsity mariachi band, having won multiple accolades
  for his efforts in those programs; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Torres had the honor of attending the National
  Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, where he confirmed his interest
  in pursuing a future in the health care field; following his
  graduation, he plans to enroll at St. Mary's University in San
  Antonio to study biology, before going on to medical school in
  preparation for a career in neurology; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his academic career, Ramiro
  Torres has earned the respect and admiration of teachers and
  classmates alike, and his scholastic ability, hard work, and
  commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
  opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Ramiro Ruben Torres III for his academic
  achievements and his 12 years of perfect attendance and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Torres as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
