R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The talented baseball team from Calallen High School
  in Corpus Christi has advanced to the regional finals of the 2015
  University Interscholastic League 5A state playoffs; and
         WHEREAS, The Wildcats entered the tournament as the number
  two seed and turned in triumphant performances against Cigarroa,
  Sharyland, and Victoria East High Schools to reach the regional
  semifinal against Alamo Heights High School; and
         WHEREAS, After routing the Mules with a 13-0 victory in the
  series opener, the Wildcats looked to clinch a finals berth on May
  29; senior right-hander Kyle Hill led that effort on the mound by
  silencing the opposing offense, allowing just two infield singles
  and recording 13 strikeouts; his strong performance was bolstered
  by catcher Kale Emshoff, who reached first base with one out in the
  fourth inning, and John Gaddis, who followed up to score pinch
  runner Preston Rackley by lacing a single to left field and
  advancing to third on an error; Nathan Rabe then brought home
  Mr. Gaddis on a sacrifice fly to centerfield, and the 2-0 lead held
  to become the final score; and
         WHEREAS, Benefiting from the skilled guidance of head coach
  Steve Chapman, the Wildcats will be going into the regional finals
  on June 6 with a stellar record of 30 wins and 3 losses; and
         WHEREAS, Through their hard work and dedication, these
  outstanding players have furthered Calallen High's record of
  athletic excellence, and their accomplishments are a source of
  great pride to their school and their many supporters in the
  community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Calallen High School baseball
  team on advancing to the regional finals of the 2015 UIL 5A state
  playoffs and extend to the team sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
