R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Rodrigo Ramon Jr. completed his noteworthy tenure as |
|
mayor of Robstown in May 2015, and it is indeed fitting to recognize |
|
him for his contributions to his community; and |
|
WHEREAS, First elected in 2001, Mr. Ramon ably guided the |
|
city with a strong focus on infrastructure and economic |
|
development; he oversaw improvements to streets and utilities, as |
|
well as the renovation of the fire and police stations, and he |
|
worked tirelessly in support of such projects as the Robstown Trade |
|
Processing and Inland Center, the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay, |
|
and the U.S. Army Reserve Controlled Humidity Preservation |
|
Warehouse; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ramon was previously a member of the city |
|
council and served as mayor pro tempore; he has also helped to |
|
improve quality of life through his efforts in behalf of the |
|
Robstown Utility Board and the Robstown Improvement Development |
|
Corporation, and he was instrumental in securing an estimated $50 |
|
million in grants for the city and the utility system; and |
|
WHEREAS, A Robstown native, Rodrigo Ramon has demonstrated |
|
exceptional dedication to the betterment of his hometown, and his |
|
accomplishments will continue to benefit his fellow citizens in the |
|
years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Rodrigo Ramon Jr. for his service as |
|
mayor of Robstown and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Ramon as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
