R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Rodrigo Ramon Jr. completed his noteworthy tenure as
  mayor of Robstown in May 2015, and it is indeed fitting to recognize
  him for his contributions to his community; and
         WHEREAS, First elected in 2001, Mr. Ramon ably guided the
  city with a strong focus on infrastructure and economic
  development; he oversaw improvements to streets and utilities, as
  well as the renovation of the fire and police stations, and he
  worked tirelessly in support of such projects as the Robstown Trade
  Processing and Inland Center, the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay,
  and the U.S. Army Reserve Controlled Humidity Preservation
  Warehouse; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ramon was previously a member of the city
  council and served as mayor pro tempore; he has also helped to
  improve quality of life through his efforts in behalf of the
  Robstown Utility Board and the Robstown Improvement Development
  Corporation, and he was instrumental in securing an estimated $50
  million in grants for the city and the utility system; and
         WHEREAS, A Robstown native, Rodrigo Ramon has demonstrated
  exceptional dedication to the betterment of his hometown, and his
  accomplishments will continue to benefit his fellow citizens in the
  years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Rodrigo Ramon Jr. for his service as
  mayor of Robstown and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ramon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
