A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to toll rates for certain vehicles traveling on State |
|
|
Highway 130. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 228, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 228.0531 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 228.0531. TOLLS FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES ON STATE HIGHWAY |
|
|
130. To encourage an operator of a vehicle or combination of |
|
|
vehicles with three or more axles to use State Highway 130, the |
|
|
commission and the department shall develop a program to discount |
|
|
or adjust toll rates for a vehicle or combination of vehicles with |
|
|
three or more axles traveling on Segments 1-4 of State Highway 130. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2016, the Texas |
|
|
Transportation Commission and the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation shall develop and implement the toll rate adjustment |
|
|
program required by Section 228.0531, Transportation Code, as added |
|
|
by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
