A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to public school educator continuing education credit for |
|
|
instruction on the use of an automated external defibrillator. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 21.0541 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 21.0541. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT FOR INSTRUCTION |
|
|
RELATED TO USE OF AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR. The board |
|
|
shall adopt rules allowing an educator to receive credit towards |
|
|
the educator's continuing education requirements for completion of |
|
|
an instructional course on the use of an automated external |
|
|
defibrillator that meets the guidelines for automated external |
|
|
defibrillator training approved under Section 779.002, Health and |
|
|
Safety Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
