A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the deadline for filing a candidate's personal |
|
|
financial statement. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 572.027(a), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) An [Not later than the 40th day after the date of the
|
|
|
regular filing deadline for an application for a place on the ballot
|
|
|
in the general primary election, an] individual who is a partisan or |
|
|
independent candidate for an office as an elected officer shall |
|
|
file the financial statement required by this subchapter not later |
|
|
than the later of: |
|
|
(1) the 60th day after the date of the regular filing |
|
|
deadline for an application for a place on the ballot in the general |
|
|
primary election; or |
|
|
(2) February 12. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
