A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the deadline for filing a candidate's personal
  financial statement.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 572.027(a), Government Code, is amended
  to read as follows:
         (a)  An [Not later than the 40th day after the date of the
  regular filing deadline for an application for a place on the ballot
  in the general primary election, an] individual who is a partisan or
  independent candidate for an office as an elected officer shall
  file the financial statement required by this subchapter not later
  than the later of:
               (1)  the 60th day after the date of the regular filing
  deadline for an application for a place on the ballot in the general
  primary election; or
               (2)  February 12.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
