A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

relating to the authority of a county or municipality to prohibit |
|
|
hydraulic fracturing treatment. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 250, Local Government Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Section 250.007 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 250.007. RESTRICTION ON REGULATION OF HYDRAULIC |
|
|
FRACTURING TREATMENT. A county or municipality may not prohibit |
|
|
hydraulic fracturing treatment of oil or gas wells. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
