A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the applicability of open meetings and public |
|
|
information laws to the education research center advisory board. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Sections 1.006(b) and (e), Education Code, are |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The advisory board is considered to be [not] a |
|
|
governmental body for purposes of Chapters [Chapter] 551 and [or] |
|
|
552, Government Code. |
|
|
(e) The advisory board shall meet at least quarterly. To |
|
|
the extent and in the manner authorized by Chapter 551, Government |
|
|
Code, any [Any] meeting of the advisory board may be conducted by |
|
|
electronic means, including a meeting by telephone conference call, |
|
|
by video conference call, through the Internet, or by any |
|
|
combination of those means. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
