A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to a prohibition against an employer providing certain |
|
employee information to a labor union. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 101, Labor Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 101.005 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 101.005. RIGHT TO PRIVACY. An employer may not provide |
|
to a labor union, other than a labor union that is the exclusive |
|
representative of the employee, any personal information of an |
|
employee, including an employee's: |
|
(1) name; |
|
(2) job classification; |
|
(3) department; |
|
(4) salary; |
|
(5) telephone number; |
|
(6) e-mail address; and |
|
(7) home address. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
