A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the permissible wealth per student of certain school |
|
districts. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 41.002, Education Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, if |
|
a school district with a current Financial Allocation Study for |
|
Texas (FAST) rating from the comptroller of at least four stars on a |
|
five-star scale, or the equivalent of that rating under any |
|
subsequent system developed by the comptroller, has a wealth per |
|
student that exceeds the equalized wealth level, the commissioner |
|
shall consider the district to have reduced its wealth per student |
|
by an amount equal to five percent of the difference between the |
|
district's wealth per student and the equalized wealth level. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
