A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to reimbursement of county expenses for certain special |
|
|
elections. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 203, Election Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 203.015 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 203.015. REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES FOR EMERGENCY |
|
|
ELECTION. Not later than the 90th day after the date of an election |
|
|
under this chapter that is not held on a uniform election date, the |
|
|
secretary of state shall certify the expenses incurred by each |
|
|
county in the conduct of the election and reimburse each county by |
|
|
administering and distributing state funds made available for that |
|
|
purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
