A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requirements for the electronic filing of reports of |
|
|
political contributions and expenditures by certain officeholders |
|
|
and candidates. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 254.036, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (h-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(h-1) This section does not require a report filed under |
|
|
this chapter by electronic transfer with an authority other than |
|
|
the commission to include a notarized affidavit, provided that the |
|
|
report is filed in accordance with rules and procedures adopted by |
|
|
the authority that requires the person filing the report to |
|
|
establish their identity by means of a secure electronic filing |
|
|
password. |
