A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of the Employees Retirement System of |
|
|
Texas to make available a TRICARE Military Health System |
|
|
Supplemental plan. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter E. Chapter 1551, Insurance Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1551.227 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1551.227. TRICARE MILITARY HEALTH SYSTEM SUPPLEMENTAL |
|
|
PLAN. The board of trustees shall make available a TRICARE Military |
|
|
Health System Supplemental plan to an employee or annuitant who |
|
|
waives coverage under the basic coverage plan under Section |
|
|
1551.1045 and is eligible for benefits under the TRICARE Military |
|
|
Health System. The board of trustees shall not contribute to the |
|
|
cost of the supplemental plan, including the premium cost. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
