SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Johnny Trotter of Hereford on the occasion of his |
|
induction into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame was established to |
|
honor those men and women who have excelled in the sport and |
|
business of rodeo and who have advanced the western lifestyle in |
|
Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Johnny Trotter is president of the American Quarter |
|
Horse Association; for many years, he has focused his efforts on |
|
racing and roping and on issues related to the use of horses in |
|
ranch work and breeding; he is an avid team roper and has |
|
participated in numerous competitions, including the World Series |
|
of Team Roping; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Trotter is also the chief executive officer of |
|
Livestock Investors, Limited, and an executive committee member of |
|
First Financial Bankshares, Incorporated; he has been active in a |
|
wide range of community and philanthropic organizations, including |
|
the West Texas A&M University Foundation, the Make-A-Wish |
|
Foundation, and the Spicer Gripp Memorial Youth Foundation; and |
|
WHEREAS, He is respected and admired for his many |
|
contributions to his community and the ranching and rodeo |
|
industries of Texas, and it is truly fitting that he receive special |
|
recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 84th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby commend Johnny Trotter on his many achievements and extend |
|
congratulations to him on his 2015 induction into the Texas Cowboy |
|
Hall of Fame; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for him |
|
as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
