SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 3
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize John Hrncir, who is retiring after three decades of |
|
exceptional service with the City of Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, John Hrncir entered into service with the city in |
|
1985, after having worked with the Lower Colorado River Authority; |
|
he became the city's government relations officer in 1992; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his tenure as government relations |
|
officer, he has played a vital role in working with members of the |
|
Texas Legislature to ensure that Austin's interests receive a |
|
fair hearing; since 1992, more than 90 percent of the outcomes on |
|
key bills in the legislature relating to Austin have been |
|
positive for the city; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As leader of the city's lobby team, he helped the |
|
city to secure more than $35 million in federal funding, including |
|
$11 million from the United States Army Corps of Engineers to |
|
purchase flood-damaged property along Onion Creek; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|
admired by his colleagues, and his presence with the City of |
|
Austin will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
Legislature, hereby commend John Hrncir on his exceptional |
|
service to the people of Austin as the city's government |
|
relations officer and extend to him best wishes for continued |
|
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
