SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Cheryl Lynn McIntyre
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of College Station in mourning the loss of Cheryl Lynn
  McIntyre, who died November 30, 2014, at the age of 41; and
         WHEREAS, Cheryl McIntyre was born on October 30, 1973, in
  Easley, South Carolina; as a young girl, she found joy
  participating in the music ministry of Easley First Baptist
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, She graduated from Converse College in 1995 with a
  bachelor's degree in politics; she joined the United States Air
  Force and began her remarkable career as a space launch officer
  at Cape Canaveral; she went on to serve in numerous positions for
  the Pentagon, and while working for the Pentagon, she earned a
  master's degree in Arabic studies at Georgetown University; and
         WHEREAS, She met her husband, Roy McIntyre, during her
  first of two deployments to Iraq, and they married over a
  satellite link in 2004 while Roy was serving in Baghdad; they
  moved to College Station, and while Roy completed a master's
  degree program at Texas A&M University, Cheryl was employed to
  create and teach the first Arabic language program at the
  institution; and
         WHEREAS, Roy and Cheryl shared a life of adventure and
  abiding love and were blessed with four children; in times of
  heartache, they cherished the invaluable support of friends and
  fellow church members; and
         WHEREAS, Cheryl was a woman of deep spiritual faith and was
  an inspiration to many; she leaves behind memories that will long
  be treasured by all who were privileged to share in her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Cheryl Lynn McIntyre; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Cheryl Lynn McIntyre.
