SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 74
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join
  the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce and the citizens of
  Bryan and College Station in celebrating February 4, 2015, as
  Bryan-College Station Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, These neighboring cities are situated in the
  rolling hills of the Brazos Valley; Bryan is named in honor of
  William Joel Bryan, a nephew of Stephen F. Austin, who donated
  land for the town site; College Station is named after the post
  office that was established along the railway and served the
  faculty and students of the Agricultural and Mechanical College
  of Texas, now called Texas A&M University; and
         WHEREAS, Texas A&M University is one of the largest public
  universities in the nation and home to the George Bush Presidential
  Library and Museum, which chronicles the administration of
  President George Herbert Walker Bush; and
         WHEREAS, Due to the leadership of the Bryan/College Station
  Chamber of Commerce, the two cities provide excellent business
  opportunities for established companies and for innovative
  entrepreneurs; and
         WHEREAS, Bryan and College Station offer the services and
  amenities of a vibrant metropolitan area while also providing the
  warm appeal and charm typical of a small town; it is truly fitting
  that a day be set aside to celebrate their many contributions to
  the growth and prosperity of our state; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from Bryan and
  College Station to Austin and extend to them best wishes for a
  memorable Bryan-College Station Day at the State Capitol; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor
  of this special occasion.
