SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 98
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Laredo Chamber of Commerce on the grand occasion of
  its 100th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1915, the Laredo Chamber of
  Commerce is one of the oldest business organizations in the city
  and consists of more than 700 members from a variety of
  industries that help the local economy thrive; and
         WHEREAS, For a hundred years, the chamber has remained
  dedicated to its mission of promoting and protecting the
  interests of business, tourism, industry, and local education
  and encouraging the orderly development of the area's resources,
  people, and infrastructure; and
         WHEREAS, The organization is celebrating its 100th
  anniversary in April of 2015, and a year-long centennial
  celebration commences on January 21 with the unveiling of a new
  marketing campaign, the celebration logo, and the schedule of
  events; and
         WHEREAS, The Laredo Chamber of Commerce has played a
  pivotal role in the development of a diverse and vital economy
  and remains committed to enhancing the business climate and the
  quality of life in Laredo; its 100th anniversary is indeed cause
  for celebration; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Laredo Chamber of
  Commerce for their dedicated work on behalf of the Laredo
  community and extend best wishes for a successful centennial
  celebration; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the chamber as a memento of this important milestone.
