SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 103
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize the City of Graham, which is hosting its first annual |
|
food-truck championship competition on its historic downtown |
|
square; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This inaugural event will draw some of the most |
|
talented food-truck chefs in Texas to compete for a $10,000 grand |
|
prize and the Food Truck Champion title; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The festivities will also include the Possum Pedal |
|
Bike Ride, an art show hosted by the Old Post Office Museum, and a |
|
variety of children's events, and the day will come to a close |
|
with a concert by renowned Texas musician Robert Earl Keen; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Visitors will be traveling from around the state |
|
to taste some of the best food-truck wares Texas has to offer and |
|
to enjoy the charm and vitality of America's largest downtown |
|
square; proceeds of the event will help maintain the unique |
|
beauty of the historic city; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate to honor the City of |
|
Graham on the occasion of this exciting inaugural event; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
Legislature, hereby join the City of Graham in recognizing June |
|
6, 2015, as Food Truck Championship of Texas on America's Largest |
|
Downtown Square Day; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
