SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 109
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Alfred Esparza Gomez
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Alfred Esparza Gomez, who died January 12,
  2015, at the age of 55; and
         WHEREAS, Alfred Gomez was born on January 29, 1959, in San
  Antonio, to Toribio and Irene Gomez; he served the nation with
  distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gomez enjoyed a fulfilling career as an
  operator with VIA Metropolitan Transit; he played an important
  role in shaping solutions for workplace issues through his
  service as vice president of his union; and
         WHEREAS, A man of strength, wisdom, and generosity, he gave
  unselfishly to others, and his great sense of humor and his
  enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
  forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his family, and he leaves behind
  memories that will be treasured forever by those who were
  privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Alfred Esparza Gomez; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Alfred Esparza Gomez.
