SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 111
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Oscar Monsibais Sr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Oscar Monsibais Sr., who died January
  16, 2015, at the age of 93; and
         WHEREAS, Oscar Monsibais was born on May 29, 1921, in
  Laredo; he graduated from Martin High School, where he was a
  member of the track and baseball teams and played clarinet in the
  band; he served the nation with distinction as a member of the
  United States Army Air Corps during World War II; and
         WHEREAS, After the war, he returned to Laredo and worked
  for Laredo Water Works, where he met the love of his life and his
  wife of 68 years, Emma; they raised four children together and
  were blessed with three granddaughters and two
  great-grandsons; and
         WHEREAS, The family moved to San Antonio in 1950, and Oscar
  began a long and productive career with the United States Postal
  Service; he served as a mail clerk and an administrator, and over
  the course of his career, he received a number of awards and
  served as a writer for the post office newsletter; and
         WHEREAS, He was a man of courage, strength, and compassion
  who gave generously to others; he had a great love of music, and
  he enjoyed traveling, reading, and writing; his enthusiasm for
  living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who
  were privileged to share in his life; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
  and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
  his family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Oscar Monsibais Sr.; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Oscar Monsibais Sr.
