SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 138

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Oliver Wendell Holmes High School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding, Oliver Wendell Holmes High School has been dedicated to preparing its students for the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship; the school's faculty and administration work diligently to stimulate intellectual curiosity, to engender satisfaction in academic achievement, and to cultivate critical thinking abilities; and

WHEREAS, The school seeks to serve all its students, whether preparing them for the challenges of a college education or equipping them with the occupational skills they need to succeed in today's complex world; and

WHEREAS, The school provides a challenging curriculum that aims to serve the needs of all its students regardless of their level of scholastic achievement; and

WHEREAS, Graduates of Oliver Wendell Holmes High School have gone on to become successful members of society and leaders in their communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend the students, faculty, staff, and administration of Oliver Wendell Holmes High School on their commitment to excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for a memorable 50th anniversary celebration; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
