SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 147

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory Council of The Texas A&M University System; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1982, the Chancellor's Student Advisory Council was created to address issues that are relevant to students throughout the university system; the council is composed of two student representatives from each of the university's campuses; the students participate in educational seminars throughout the state and meet twice a year to discuss campus affairs; and

WHEREAS, The members are leaders in student government who encourage student involvement in campus activities, identify and support emerging leaders, and serve as a liaison to the system's chancellor and board of regents; and

WHEREAS, These exceptional leaders play an integral role in the success of the campuses in The Texas A&M University System and they are indeed deserving of recognition for their outstanding work and dedication; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory Council of The Texas A&M University System for their commitment to excellence in educational leadership and extend to them best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for council members as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
