SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 182
         WHEREAS, Many esteemed Texans are gathering in Austin on
  February 17, 2015, in celebration of Texas Food and Fuel
  Association Day at the State Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1949, the association represents more
  than 700 companies engaged in petroleum marketing, grocery
  distribution, and convenience and grocery store sales; it is
  headquartered in Austin, and its members own, operate, or supply
  more than 12,000 convenience stores across the state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Association members distribute an estimated
  two-thirds of all of the motor fuel sold in Texas and deliver
  products to convenience stores, grocery stores, and truck stops
  across the state; the group's retail members own or operate
  approximately 5,000 facilities, whether single stores or outlets
  of major national chains; in addition, suppliers belonging to the
  organization include some of the world's largest enterprises in
  petroleum, food, beverages, tobacco, and equipment; and
 
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Gary
  Johnson, the Texas Food and Fuel Association works diligently to
  promote the success of businesses that contribute significantly
  to the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and this event provides
  a fitting opportunity to honor this noteworthy organization;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby recognize February 17, 2015, as Texas Food
  and Fuel Association Day at the State Capitol and extend to all
  those participating sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and
  informative visit.
