SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 230
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Rick Lee Henson for his successful career in
  photography and his work depicting artistic culture, prominent
  Texans, and notable moments in the history of this state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Rick Henson is a native Texan whose family roots
  go back to the Republic of Texas, and he was born on Texas
  Independence Day in 1952; he began his career as a photographer
  after capturing exceptional images of Elvis Presley at a concert
  in Austin in 1977; and
 
         WHEREAS, His impressive portfolio spans four decades and
  includes shots of many local and national celebrities, including
  Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, George Bush, Merle Haggard, Burt
  Reynolds, and George Strait; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Henson's work has graced the covers of hit
  records and has helped tell the stories of beloved musicians in a
  variety of illustrated biographies; and
 
         WHEREAS, His photo archive attests to a life of warm
  friendships, cherished memories, and rare glimpses into
  significant moments in this state's history; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend Rick Lee Henson for his work
  commemorating Texas life and culture and extend to him
  congratulations on his birthday and best wishes for continued
  success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
