Clarence William Muehlberger |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of Wichita Falls in mourning the loss of Clarence |
|
|
William Muehlberger, who died May 22, 2014, at the age of 92; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Clarence Muehlberger was born on May 31, 1921, in |
|
|
Wichita Falls; he graduated from Wichita Falls High School and |
|
|
earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of |
|
|
Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After graduation, he served his country in the |
|
|
Pacific Theater during World War II as an officer in the United |
|
|
States Navy; he returned home to join his father and grandfather |
|
|
in running a family clothing business, Muehlberger's Menswear, |
|
|
which he guided through 30 years of growth and success; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Muehlberger was inspired by the principles of |
|
|
his faith, and he served his community as an active member of |
|
|
numerous boards and organizations; he was dedicated to serving |
|
|
the Boy Scouts of America, was a master Mason, and served as an |
|
|
officer of the Wichita Falls Rotary Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He is noted for the many years he worked |
|
|
diligently to improve transportation in North Texas; in 2001, he |
|
|
was awarded the Texas Road Hand Award for his efforts to bring an |
|
|
interstate to Wichita Falls; it is the highest honor the Texas |
|
|
Department of Transportation gives a private citizen; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Clarence Muehlberger was a loving husband, |
|
|
father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will |
|
|
long be cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Clarence William Muehlberger; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Clarence Muehlberger. |
