SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 274
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Clarence William Muehlberger
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Wichita Falls in mourning the loss of Clarence
  William Muehlberger, who died May 22, 2014, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Clarence Muehlberger was born on May 31, 1921, in
  Wichita Falls; he graduated from Wichita Falls High School and
  earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of
  Texas; and
         WHEREAS, After graduation, he served his country in the
  Pacific Theater during World War II as an officer in the United
  States Navy; he returned home to join his father and grandfather
  in running a family clothing business, Muehlberger's Menswear,
  which he guided through 30 years of growth and success; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Muehlberger was inspired by the principles of
  his faith, and he served his community as an active member of
  numerous boards and organizations; he was dedicated to serving
  the Boy Scouts of America, was a master Mason, and served as an
  officer of the Wichita Falls Rotary Club; and
         WHEREAS, He is noted for the many years he worked
  diligently to improve transportation in North Texas; in 2001, he
  was awarded the Texas Road Hand Award for his efforts to bring an
  interstate to Wichita Falls; it is the highest honor the Texas
  Department of Transportation gives a private citizen; and
         WHEREAS, Clarence Muehlberger was a loving husband,
  father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will
  long be cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Clarence William Muehlberger; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Clarence Muehlberger.
