SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 302
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the members of the Dallas Regional Chamber who are |
|
|
gathering at the Capitol on March 4, 2015, to celebrate Dallas |
|
|
Regional Chamber Day; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its incorporation in 1856, Dallas has grown |
|
|
to become a leading business center, and by 2012, it was home to |
|
|
nine Fortune 500 companies; the city's diverse industries |
|
|
include building design and construction, information technology |
|
|
services, telecommunications, and world-renowned health care |
|
|
systems; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has played a key |
|
|
leadership role in the establishment of many important regional |
|
|
assets, and the prosperity enjoyed by Dallas-area businesses and |
|
|
residents today is due in no small part to the success of the |
|
|
chamber's efforts over the past 100 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber works collaboratively |
|
|
to promote economic development, improve public education, and |
|
|
advocate for regional public policies that foster and sustain |
|
|
economic prosperity and a strong business climate for the |
|
|
region; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas enjoy an exceptional quality |
|
|
of life, with access to thriving cultural arts facilities, unique |
|
|
urban green spaces, famed sporting-event locations, premier |
|
|
concert arenas, and a number of outdoor recreation options; |
|
|
Dallas has been ranked among the best cities for new college |
|
|
graduates, and it remains among the most affordable of the |
|
|
nation's largest cities; and |

|
WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has contributed |
|
|
greatly to the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star State, and |
|
|
its members can indeed be proud of their many achievements as |
|
|
they look to the future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby join the Dallas delegation in celebrating |
|
|
March 4, 2015, as Dallas Regional Chamber Day at the State |
|
|
Capitol and extend best wishes to all for a memorable visit to |
|
|
Austin; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
honor of this special day. |
