SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 345
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Joel Craig Gandy
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Central Texas in mourning the loss of Joel Craig
  Gandy, who died July 9, 2014, at the age of 60; and
         WHEREAS, Craig Gandy was born on August 30, 1953, in
  Morton, Texas; he was a talented athlete who excelled at
  baseball, and he graduated from Ponca City High School; and
         WHEREAS, He served with distinction in the United States
  Army for 12 years, rising to the rank of sergeant; during his
  service, he was commended for his leadership work in the Quality
  Assurance Branch, and he was a valuable asset to the Finance
  Corps, where he served as finance specialist; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gandy lived a life guided by the principles of
  his faith and became a beloved and respected Christian leader and
  entrepreneur in Austin and Central Texas; he was the host of the
  popular Christian talk show JCI Live Austin, and he and his
  family produced television programs that streamed around the
  world through Channel Austin; and
         WHEREAS, He was an admired pro-life advocate who was noted
  for his devotion to truth and his integrity; he touched the lives
  of countless people with his compassion, and his wisdom, warmth,
  and valued counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gandy was a loving husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will long be
  cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Joel Craig Gandy; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Joel Craig Gandy.
