SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 383
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  welcome the young citizens from across the state who have come to
  Austin to celebrate 4-H Day at the State Capitol on March 25,
  2015; and
 
         WHEREAS, Texas 4-H traces its beginnings to a Jack County
  corn club that began with 25 original members in 1908; today,
  members from both rural and urban areas have access to an
  extensive network of 4-H programs that are administered by the
  Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Prairie View A&M
  Cooperative Extension Program; and
 
         WHEREAS, The 4-H community consists of young people across
  the nation who are learning the skills they need to succeed in
  life; the club seeks to meet the challenges of childhood through
  a coordinated, progressive series of educational experiences
  that enhance life skills and help young citizens develop social,
  emotional, physical, and cognitive competencies; and
 
         WHEREAS, The 4-H program encourages wise and productive
  use of the four Hs, which stand for head, hands, heart, and
  health; through the years, millions of Texas youths have used the
  4-H pledge as a framework for building bright and successful
  futures; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend the members and volunteers of Texas
  4-H on the occasion of 4-H Day at the State Capitol and extend to
  them best wishes for a rewarding visit to Austin; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
