SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 395
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Liberty Christian School Lady Warriors, who |
|
|
recently won the Texas Association of Private and Parochial |
|
|
Schools Class 5A girls' basketball state championship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors defeated the Prestonwood |
|
|
Christian Academy Lady Lions from Plano by a score of 45-38 in a |
|
|
stunning fourth-quarter comeback and claimed Liberty Christian |
|
|
School's fourth state title; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great |
|
|
talent and perseverance throughout the school year; team members |
|
|
Haley Muller, Sydney Goodson, Hannah Hand, Emily Earley, Rebekah |
|
|
Hand, Kendall Ellig, Addi Goodson, Tatum Barber, Kennedy Irwin, |
|
|
Sawyer Weed, and Grace Bridges can take pride in their |
|
|
outstanding performance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors have developed exceptional |
|
|
teamwork and discipline under the leadership of head coach Ken |
|
|
Burroughs and coaches Ashley Jordan, Kenalea Hailey, and Madison |
|
|
Middle; the team also benefited from the assistance of managers |
|
|
Kassidy Keith and Morgan Morris and the support of athletic |
|
|
director Zack Vest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors are a source of great pride for |
|
|
the students and faculty of Liberty Christian School and the |
|
|
community of Argyle, and they deserve recognition for their |
|
|
outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate the Liberty Christian School |
|
|
Lady Warriors girls' basketball team on winning the Texas |
|
|
Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 5A |
|
|
championship title and extend to all best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
