SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 421
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin on the grand occasion of
  its 80th anniversary; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin adopted its name on
  September 8, 1934, and the articles of incorporation were
  officially filed with the Secretary of State on February 19,
  1935; and
 
         WHEREAS, In the decades that have followed, the
  cooperative has been a source of economic support to members,
  owners, and the community; the cotton gin's many civic
  contributions include assisting with programs in the Meadow
  Independent School District, the Meadow FFA, and the Terry County
  4-H Club; and
 
         WHEREAS, The gin serves as a processing center for 25,000
  acres of cotton with proceeds exceeding $7 million, and its total
  yearly economic impact is nearly $10 million based on a
  three-year average; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin plays an important
  role in the financial success of the region and in the
  agricultural success of our state, and its 80th anniversary is
  indeed cause for celebration; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend the members and owners of the Meadow
  Farmers Co-op Gin for 80 years of success and extend to them best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the gin as a memento of this special anniversary.
