SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 425
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Jeff Pilchiek for 30 years of exemplary service in the |
|
|
field of public education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jeff Pilchiek has served as a teacher and as a |
|
|
certified public school counselor in communities across the |
|
|
state, and he has helped countless students navigate the college |
|
|
admission process; most recently, he served as director of |
|
|
Guidance for the Eanes Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Pilchiek has visited college campuses across |
|
|
the country in order to gain a personal perspective on the |
|
|
institutions' programs and environment so that he could better |
|
|
guide his students to the college that best suited their needs; |
|
|
in recognition of his expertise, many colleges have invited him |
|
|
to serve on their counselor advisory boards, including the |
|
|
University of Chicago and Texas Tech University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime leader in his profession, Mr. Pilchiek |
|
|
has served as president of the Texas Association for College |
|
|
Admission Counseling, as a committee member for the National |
|
|
Association for College Admission Counseling, and as a member of |
|
|
the ApplyTexas Committee for the Texas Higher Education |
|
|
Coordinating Board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and counselor, Mr. Pilchiek |
|
|
has had a positive influence on the lives of innumerable young |
|
|
people, and he is truly deserving of special recognition for his |
|
|
dedication and expertise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Jeff Pilchiek on 30 years of |
|
|
outstanding service as a public school counselor and a leader in |
|
|
the field of education and extend to him best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
