SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 456
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize April 26, 2015, as Blue Sunday Day of Prayer in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Blue Sunday Day of Prayer was initiated in South
  Texas by Janet and John Magee and Ron Corzine in 1994 as part of
  the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative; it began as a
  prayer campaign involving 20 churches across South Texas, and the
  campaign has grown to include more than seven million people
  around the world; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, the Blue Sunday Child Abuse
  Prevention Initiative has expanded its efforts to include the
  development and free distribution of educational tools to raise
  awareness of child abuse; and
         WHEREAS, This exceptional program also provides abused and
  neglected children with material goods that will help them to
  deal with their difficulties and improve their lives; and
         WHEREAS, The Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative
  has had a profound effect on the lives of countless abused and
  neglected children, and it is truly fitting that the initiative and
  its advocates receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend the founders, board members, and
  community volunteers of the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention
  Initiative on their commitment to bringing relief to abused
  children and extend to them best wishes for a productive and
  memorable Blue Sunday Day of Prayer; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
