Consuelo Raymond Kazen |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Consuelo Raymond Kazen, who died March |
|
|
22, 2015, at the age of 95; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Consuelo "Connie" Raymond Kazen was born May 6, |
|
|
1919; she was married to the late Abraham "Chick" Kazen Jr., who |
|
|
served as a United States Congressman; they were blessed with |
|
|
five children and with 11 grandchildren and 11 |
|
|
great-grandchildren, who were a source of much joy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Connie Kazen brought her considerable talents, |
|
|
creativity, and passion to her work as a teacher and to her |
|
|
activities with a wide range of civic and charitable |
|
|
organizations, including the Texas Senate Ladies Club, the Pan |
|
|
American Round Table, the Texas State Teachers Association, the |
|
|
Society of Martha Washington, the Congressional Texas State |
|
|
Society, and the Laredo Doll Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kazen was a devout Catholic who practiced |
|
|
her faith in her daily life, and she was a Lady in the Equestrian |
|
|
Order of the Holy Sepulchre; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she |
|
|
gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued |
|
|
counsel will long be remembered by those who were privileged to |
|
|
share in her life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, |
|
|
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by |
|
|
her family and her many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Consuelo Raymond Kazen; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Connie Raymond Kazen. |
