SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 485
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Consuelo Raymond Kazen
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Consuelo Raymond Kazen, who died March
  22, 2015, at the age of 95; and
         WHEREAS, Consuelo "Connie" Raymond Kazen was born May 6,
  1919; she was married to the late Abraham "Chick" Kazen Jr., who
  served as a United States Congressman; they were blessed with
  five children and with 11 grandchildren and 11
  great-grandchildren, who were a source of much joy; and
         WHEREAS, Connie Kazen brought her considerable talents,
  creativity, and passion to her work as a teacher and to her
  activities with a wide range of civic and charitable
  organizations, including the Texas Senate Ladies Club, the Pan
  American Round Table, the Texas State Teachers Association, the
  Society of Martha Washington, the Congressional Texas State
  Society, and the Laredo Doll Club; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Kazen was a devout Catholic who practiced
  her faith in her daily life, and she was a Lady in the Equestrian
  Order of the Holy Sepulchre; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
  gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will long be remembered by those who were privileged to
  share in her life; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
  and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
  her family and her many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Consuelo Raymond Kazen; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Connie Raymond Kazen.
