SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 489
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
welcome the members of the Republican women's clubs from Senate |
|
|
District 5 who are visiting the Capitol on the occasion of Texas |
|
|
Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women was |
|
|
established in 1955 to make it possible for women to have an |
|
|
influence on the way all levels of government manage such vital |
|
|
issues as health, crime, education, taxes, and financial |
|
|
security; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Representing Senate District 5 at the legislative |
|
|
day are Republican Women of Brazos Valley, Grimes County |
|
|
Republican Women, Robertson County Republican Women, Walker |
|
|
County Republican Women, Williamson County Republican Women, |
|
|
Republican Women of Milam County, Georgetown Area Republican |
|
|
Women, and Northwest Austin Republican Women; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of these outstanding organizations |
|
|
have played a central role in furthering the federation's goals |
|
|
of electing Republicans to office, educating voters, encouraging |
|
|
Republican women to run for office, and inspiring broader |
|
|
participation in the political process; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The women of these clubs have been instrumental in |
|
|
the success of Republican Party candidates in Senate District 5, |
|
|
and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition for |
|
|
their hard work and dedication; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Republican |
|
|
women's clubs in Senate District 5 on their contributions to the |
|
|
Republican Party of Texas and extend to them best wishes for an |
|
|
enjoyable and productive visit to Austin on Texas Federation of |
|
|
Republican Women Legislative Day; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
