SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 645

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Chili and Barbecue Cook-off; and

WHEREAS, The cook-off is sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers Association as one of the organization's annual state cook-offs, and this year's event is being held in Midland on October 10, 2015, with proceeds benefiting Gifts of Hope, Hope House, and the Look Good Feel Good Shop; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of the cook-off's history, more than $433,750 has been raised to provide support and comfort to cancer patients across West Texas; and

WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue and chili, and the 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Chili and Barbecue Cook-off is sure to provide cuisine to satisfy the most discriminating of palates; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and organizers of the 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Chili and Barbecue Cook-off and extend to them best wishes for a successful event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special occasion.
