SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 650
         WHEREAS, Max Hartmann of Doss is retiring from the Texas
  and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in March 2015, and
  the occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize him for
  his notable career and many achievements; and
         WHEREAS, A native of New Braunfels, Mr. Hartmann received
  his education at Texas A&M University and was sworn in as game
  warden for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in June 1967;
  stationed in Fredericksburg, he served in Gillespie and Blanco
  Counties until 1995; and
         WHEREAS, That same year, Mr. Hartmann became the justice
  of the peace for Precinct Two in Gillespie County, and he also
  joined the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association as a
  market inspector at the Gillespie Livestock Company; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hartmann stepped down as justice of the peace
  in 1998 and returned to Texas Parks and Wildlife, working as a
  state game warden until September 2005, when he rejoined the
  Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association as a special
  ranger; in 2011, he became the association's supervisor for
  Region Two and helped to organize a coalition of property owners
  in and around Gillespie County; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hartmann's many awards include recognition as
  the highest ranked sharpshooter by the Texas Parks and Wildlife
  Department and Outstanding Wildlife Officer of the Year in 1993;
  he received the Shikar-Safari Club International Award from the
  department in 1992, and he was named Outstanding Public Servant
  by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce in 1997; and
         WHEREAS, Also active with area youth, he served as
  president of the Gillespie 4-H and FFA Livestock Associations in
  1980, and he was recognized as Gillespie County 4-H leader of the
  year in 1977; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hartmann has enjoyed
  the love and support of his wife, Franny; they are the proud
  parents of three children and have seen their family grow to
  include nine grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Max Hartmann has an impressive record of
  accomplishments as a law enforcement officer and advocate for
  landowners, and his dedication, professionalism, and commitment
  to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of Gillespie
  County and earned him widespread respect and admiration; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Max Hartmann on his retirement
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hartmann as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
