SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 682
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Paul Howard Pryor
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of Austin in mourning the loss of Paul Howard Pryor, who died
  April 10, 2015, at the age of 65; and
         WHEREAS, Paul Pryor was born on April 22, 1949, and he grew
  up listening to the radio, as his father, Richard "Cactus" Pryor,
  broadcasted a daily morning show from their Austin home; and
         WHEREAS, He moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting
  career, and he later joined the Dallas Theater Center and
  traveled the nation as a member of the Alpha Omega Players acting
  troupe; he settled in Dallas and worked as a news director for
  several radio stations and was later recruited to serve as news
  director for KVET in Austin; during his years on the Austin
  airwaves, he also had popular talk shows on KLBJ-AM and a local
  ESPN station; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Pryor was known for his quick wit and for his
  exceptional talent on the air; although he was highly opinionated
  and enjoyed controversial debates with his audience, he was
  respected and admired for his professionalism and his kind
  nature; and
         WHEREAS, Above all things, Paul Pryor cherished his two
  children, Ana and Pecos; he helped carry on a proud family tradition
  of broadcast entertainment, and he leaves behind memories that
  will long be treasured by his family, friends, and many fans;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Paul Howard Pryor; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Paul Pryor.
