SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 759
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
recognize the Highland Village Police Department on the occasion
of Police Week in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Peace officers are a select group of brave men and
women who dedicate their lives to the protection and safekeeping
of their fellow citizens and who serve our nation and this great
state, regardless of dangerous circumstances and risks to their
  personal safety; and
WHEREAS, As a tribute to these invaluable civil servants,
the 87th United States Congress and President John F. Kennedy
designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week of
May 15 as Police Week; and
WHEREAS, Proud traditions since 1962, these observances
provide an excellent opportunity for citizens to reflect on the
far-reaching responsibilities and challenges of law enforcement
duty and to honor active peace officers, as well as those who have
fallen, for their exceptional service and sacrifice; now,
  therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Highland Village
Police Department for their outstanding service to their

to pay tribute to their local police department in observance of
Police Week in Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
