SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 832
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Joyce Willard Teal on the occasion of her 2015
  induction into the African American Educators Hall of Fame; and
 
         WHEREAS, Dr. Teal is an award-winning educator, counselor,
  author, and motivational speaker who has taught middle school in
  Atlanta and Dallas; she began writing professionally in 1995 and
  has authored 16 books for adolescent and adult audiences; and
 
         WHEREAS, She has a passion for helping children, and she
  has devoted much of her life to counseling young people; she
  hosts a weekly radio talk show, The Teal Appeal, on KEBN Internet
  Radio; and
 
         WHEREAS, A distinguished leader in her field, Dr. Teal was
  named Who's Who Among American Teachers, and she is a recipient
  of the Dallas Independent School District's Principles of Public
  Service Award; she has guided countless children on their
  educational paths, and she is truly deserving of recognition for
  her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Joyce Willard Teal for her
  exceptional contributions to education in our state and extend
  congratulations to her on her 2015 induction into the African
  American Educators Hall of Fame; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
