SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 959

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Foster Edwards, who is retiring October 31, 2015, as president and chief executive officer of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards joined the chamber at a difficult time, and he was able to bring stability to the organization and make it once again relevant in the community; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure, he has been noted for his creativity and his people skills; his hands-on approach with elected representatives and Pentagon officials has helped Corpus Christi to keep and protect military installations and investments; and

WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional dedication and administrative expertise; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary executive, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Foster Edwards on his outstanding service to the Corpus Christi community as president and chief executive officer of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
