SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1016

WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize Edgar Reuben "Bud" Giesinger, who has been named the recipient of The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business Department of Accounting 2015 Texas Star Award; and

WHEREAS, Bud Giesinger is the managing partner for KPMG's Houston Office and has over 35 years of accounting and financial experience; and

WHEREAS, His extensive background in serving privately held, entrepreneurial companies, as well as publicly traded corporations, has made him a leader in the field of public accounting; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Giesinger is a prominent certified public accountant in the State of Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants; and

WHEREAS, He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin and presently serves as a member of the university's Department of Accounting Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Giesinger also serves on the board of directors of Central Houston, Incorporated, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Texas TriCities Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Hobby Center for Performing Arts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Edgar Reuben Giesinger on his service to The University of Texas at Austin department of accounting and on his many contributions to the fields of accounting and finance; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
