SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1017

WHEREAS, The members of the Trinity University men's and women's teams have distinguished themselves by winning the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships; and

WHEREAS, Competing against a tough field of league rivals over the course of the two-day meet, the Trinity men's team collected 12 individual titles and scored 269 points, while the women's team captured 11 individual titles and 248 points; these stellar achievements represent the men's third consecutive conference team title and the 10th overall team championship for each squad; and

WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships, the Tigers have continued the Trinity University tradition of athletic achievement, and these outstanding young men and women may take justifiable pride in the skill and dedication they have demonstrated; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Trinity University men's and women's teams on winning the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships and extend to the athletes and coaches sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for the teams as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
